Space Empires - 4(Deluxe) and 5 - Bargain

Just purchased yesterday from Steam for the bargain price of 8 USD.
So freakin cheap.

I love Space Empires when I played the 1st one. Its a massive strategy game with the goal of taking over the galaxy. There's a lot of micromanaging involved, though that is usually the fun part. But if you hate that, you can automate most of it and focus on the parts you actually wanna play. Meaning? You can focus on being a spymaster if that's your thing or you can focus on being Warmaster if that floats your boat.

Will play more and update.

Glitched - Supreme Commander Forged Alliance (Steam version)

Today was like "Mehhhhhh!!!"
What happened was that I spent 6 hours or so playing my Supreme Commander Forged Alliance 'Overlord' mission as Aeon.

After spending a lot of time building up my economy and setting up an impenetrable defense with 1 Paragon set up for economy backup and 40 of each support commanders for fast building of experimentals, The game got me screwed.
And this was with me spending most of those time loading up on nukes that I ended having 80 nukes on standby with my 20 missile subs.

What happened was that, after I cleared the 2nd checkpoint in the game and successfully killed the Aeon and Seraphim commander, I expectantly waited for the arch mission objective. But nope. No such thing. No mission objectives came up. I was left wondering what the heck happened and then I thought
'Ah screw it. I'll just nuke the Arch. Maybe it'll end whether or not the mission objectives are there."
What happened?
Nothing. I nuked the whole base and for good measure, sent out spy planes and my experimental subs through the whole map on hunting missions for leftovers. Still no end to the game.
Then I realized.. THIS GAME PUNK'D ME!!!

Meh...

Retro Games - Dune 2

Found a version of Dune 2 Battle for Arrakis. Been running it in DosBOX and to my surprise, it works!!
It gets slow at certain times like during heated battles, but other than that, it works fine. Will have to check though what version it is. I remember some of the most annoying thing was my Starport hanging during a delivery.

Will update again

GOG - Realm of Arkania

Now am trying my hands at this old game. I recall playing it while I was little only to die 2-3 hours into the game without saving (forgive me, I was 6).
From the parts I've played, it seems I've forgotten the unforgiving part where most of the actions are realistic.
Realistic in the sense that your survival depends on stuffs that affects you in real life like hunger, thirst, fears and greed.

Like say you've provided everything for your party but forgot that waterskin and you can't find a source of water. Well be ready to die of thirst.

Will update again once I have something else to update.

Modding - Sword of The Stars Tech

Just found out I can do some miniature modding for Sword of The Stars on my own. Have been tweaking the tech trees a lot now since I found out I can do that. Will probably be looking at the tutorials all over the Net to see what else I can mod aside from the Tech trees.

Currently am testing each race with Full Tech capabilities just so that I can see how it performs and see what Race I like the most.

Current Favourite - Sword of The Stars: A Murder of Crows

Just an update.

My current favourite 4x strategy is Sword of The Stars: A Murder of Crows.

I have played both the base version and Born of Blood expansion.
However, while browsing through Amazon last year, I found the Collector's Edition for Sword of tbe Stars with all 3 versions, the base Sword of The Stars, Born of Blood expansion and A Murder of Crows expansion packed together, so I definitely went ahead and bought it.

I have to say that from an  intial playthrough, I was hooked, again, to this series. I just love that massive war theater where you plan your moves 5-10 turns in the future. Where you try to predict and pre-empt any enemy actions against you, and with the addition of the Morrigi race to this mix, I'm loving it all over again. The enemy A.I. has also been improved. Where the enemy A.I was quite forgiving even on Hard difficulty in the earlier expansions, in this expansion, the A.I. is quite hard and evil, even on Easy difficulty.

Will update again with some screenshots of my current Morrigi Empire.

Thanks

A member of Cheat Happens

I am currently a lifetime member of Cheat Happens.

While this means I use cheats and trainers, I would like to state that I always play a game to the finish without any cheats or trainer whatsoever for the first playthrough. Its only on the next playthrough that I will consider using cheats or trainers for the sake of expediency and for variety's sake. It's always fun playing Left For Dead 2 with godmode and unlimited on and using only the chainsaw. heh.

I have been a member for over 2 years now I think, and while the manners and language do leave something to be desired, I have to say their response has been fast and up to date.

I know that most people wouldn't think of paying for cheats. So did I. But after playing some games and getting bored real quick once the playthrough is done and you're looking for variety, trainers really starts to shine. And since Cheat Happens supply the latest trainers, that clinched the issue for me. Went in when that had a lifetime membership promotion period.

Thanks again chaps.

Back From Hiatus

I'm sorry that this blog has been on hiatus for a year.
Life decision changes and situations has forced the decision on me. I am currently in another country.
However, I will be updating my gaming sessions as best as I can. Thanks for all the views.

And due to an unexpected hard drive crash, my replays of Aeon Of Storms are lost, so the 'Chronicles of Tiberius Rancor' that I've written have come to an unexpected end. Will try to replace that with other gaming world based stories.

Thanks again chaps.
